As an aerosol scientist, I came to comprehend that everything is connected from the molecular level, and each of us belongs to a part of the Oneness. With such complexity awareness, and appreciation of the close connectedness, I was deeply inspired and urged by my inner compass to share my professional expertise and devote myself to integrate the IDGs with our promotion of SDGs, aiming to bridge polarities, break boundaries, and re-establish an I.D.E.A.L. (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Appreciation, Love) and sustainable planet for the benefits of ALL!

I established the Taiwan Kaohsiung IDG Hub for SDGs, the first IDG Hub in Taiwan in 2022. As a university professor and the Director of Aerosol Science Research Center (a Featured Area Research Center supported by the Ministry of Education, Taiwan), I have integrated IDGs into our promotion of SDGs and actions in improving the air quality and environmental ecosystem to a broad variety of societal groups, including governmental agencies, industry, NGOs/NPOs, K-12 school teachers and students, and the general public. Since 2022, we have developed and organized a series of programs, curriculum and IDGs workshops to work with different societal groups to address the ecological crisis and bridge polarities, break boundaries, and co-create a more sustainable future for all.

My project has made great efforts in bridging polarities and breaking boundaries among different societal groups, including Industry, Government agencies, Stakeholders. The Aerosol Science Research Center focuses on scientific issues related with aerosols, air quality, public health, and overall ecological sustainability. Very often, different societal groups hold different perspective in addressing these issues. Through our efforts in integrating IDGs into our project, the polarities have been reduced. We have organized a series of SDGs x IDGs workshops, providing a favorable platform allowing groups holding different views to gather together and to have conversations on how to address the environmental crisis that the whole humanity is facing.
