InEx is a living experiment in bridging the polarities of our time: technology and humanity, past and future, reflection and action. Grounded in the IDGs, it shows how ancestral wisdom and emerging technologies can come together to awaken the leadership capacities we need for a sustainable future.

The defining challenges of our time call for leaders who can connect inner depth with outer action. At the same time, we face a force that is reshaping how we think, decide, and lead: artificial intelligence. AI is not neutral, it mirrors our values and amplifies the ways we show up in the world.

InEx is where inner transformation meets artificial intelligence to shape regenerative leadership.

It experiments with ways AI can serve inner development rather than reinforce old patterns. At its core is the InEx Digital Mirror, a prototype of AI that does not intend to provide answers but reflects back unconscious patterns, paradoxes, and blind spots, inviting presence and ethical reflection. The Mirror is trained on a living Body of Knowledge that combines the IDGs with multiple intelligences, nature’s wisdom, and the richness of arts and culture, weaving cognitive, emotional, relational, and aesthetic ways of knowing into one evolving epistemology.

In July 2025, we brought together 34 leaders from across Brazil (executives, entrepreneurs, Indigenous voices, politicians and educators) for a three-day immersion where the concept of the Mirror was first introduced. What emerged was powerful: a collective recognition that artificial and ancestral intelligences are not opposites but complementary forces. When grounded in care and purpose, technology can nurture inner growth as much as external evolution.

Led by Neoliderança, an IDG Network and for impact start-up, with support from FAPESC, the Research and Innovation Support Foundation of Santa Catarina State, InEx is more than a technological prototype. It is a social innovation movement. Through co-creation, experimentation, and dialogue, it explores how inner development can directly shape the choices that advance the Sustainable Development Goals while cultivating the leadership capacities needed for a regenerative future.

InEx is a living experiment in the space between polarities, where new possibilities can emerge. It invites leaders to hold and integrate, rather than resolve, the tensions between technology and humanity, inner growth and external impact, past and future, reflection and action. These are not problems to be fixed but complementary energies to be sustained. In learning to hold them with presence, leaders cultivate the capacity for regenerative leadership.

Describe something about the real world impact (SDG connection) your project/initiative has contributed to.

By positioning leadership development as a leverage point for systemic change, InEx generates ripple effects across the SDGs. As a multi-sectoral experiment, it is already influencing leaders, organizations, academia, the public sector, and civil society, revealing new ways to integrate inner development, cultural diversity, and environmental awareness into practice. This connects directly to SDG 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption & Production).

The InEx Digital Mirror is being developed to challenge the prevailing logic of AI as a tool for efficiency and control, creating an AI that helps leaders surface unconscious patterns, paradoxes, and blind spots so they can act with greater self-awareness and ethical discernment.

The project also advances SDG 4 (Quality Education) through partnerships with Brazilian universities for research and development of the Digital Mirror, with further collaborations in Brazil and Europe now under way.

Its global relevance has been recognized in two recent publications: the book chapter Inner Development Goals and Sustainable Futures: A Path Toward Regenerative Businesses (World Scientific, 2025) and the World Economic Forum article Regenerative Leadership and the Future of Global Value Chains (2025). Both highlight InEx as a concrete contribution to positioning inner development as a pathway for advancing the SDGs.
