“Coming Home To Who You Are – Education ReEnlightened”, a thought-provoking tale of friendship, mentorship, and the courage to forge an individual path. In an era of rapid technological advancement and uncertainty about the future, many students feel disillusioned and in search for deeper meaning. This book is a bold invitation to envision a new paradigm for education – one that nurtures the mind, and more importantly the soul. This writing project started 2 years ago as a way for me to process the lack of motivation my son was feeling when he started university. It broke my heart to see young people so disengaged during these foundational years of inner and outer growth. I could sense the disconnect between the needs of the students and the priorities of educational institutions. As a way to empower myself and articulate my ideas on the future of education I started to write. Quite early on in the process I was joined by Marcus Aurelius Higgs who brought years of teaching and working with adolescents into the project. It has been an amazing journey of collaboration and co-creation. We have received great feedback on the early additions of the book. Niels Rot, Founder of Rflect.ch even order 150 copies to send to his customers in the higher education space. I also had the opportunity to creatively share the story of the book during the recent IDG Forum in Caux Switzerland. There was great resonance with many people. In the final version, which will be released on September 26th, the IDGs are deeply integrated throughout the storyline.

The book fits seamlessly with the theme of bridging polarities because its central aim is to demonstrate how the current divide between the needs of young people and the priorities of higher education can be reconciled. By closing this gap, education can be reinvigorated around its deeper humanistic foundation. In the Western philosophical tradition, “know thyself” has long been a guiding ideal, and the book seeks to re-center education on this timeless purpose. As exponential technologies continue to accelerate, it becomes even more essential to balance technical advancement with the cultivation of our deeper human capacities for meaning, creativity, and self-understanding.
